Dates for your Diary
Apologises for this late newsletter but we have been waiting for our programme time at the Frimley Carnival Demonstration.
Sunday June 9th 2007
First
of all thank you to all the students that supported us at the Charles
Kingsley Primary School Summer Fayre. The demonstration went very well
and a lot of parents commented on how you had all improved from seeing
you all at last year''s demonstrations.
Sunday July 8th 2007
On
Sunday 8th July Dr Tony Moore and the Frimley Green Carnival Committee
have invited us back to demonstrate our skills at the Frimley Green
Carnival this year. All those willing to participate please just let
Sensei Andre or Sensei Daphne know before the day. We will meet on the
main roadside of The Green, Frimley Green on 8th July at 12.45 pm. We
have a 15 minute slot and will again just be covering general items that
we have practiced in the dojo during lesson times, so, go out and enjoy
the demonstration which will be at 1.30 pm.
Grading 4th June 2007
The
grading held on Monday 4th June 2007 was once again very full indeed.
All the students did very well and put plenty of effort into the
grading. A special thank you to Sempai Robert Harcup who took the basics
and was just as nervous as the students being that this was his first
time helping out in a grading. This allowed us to watch the students one

Student of the Month
It’s
been another very busy couple of months for us as we have been doing
lots of First Aid instruction and assessments. This means with a late
June newsletter we have to cast our minds back to May for the Student of
the Month to be acknowledged. With this in mind and taking into account
overall performance at the dojo and at the GKI Championships the
nomination for May follows:
May student of the month is: -
Bradley Anstee
Congratulations
goes to Bradley, who came so close to winning medals at the
championships and although obviously disappointed continued to support
all the other students around him with words of encouragement and
spirit. At the recent grading his technique was very impressive. We are
beginning to see the timing and focus develop as he progresses through
the grading system. Bradley even makes time to look out for the younger
members of the dojo, which is the true karate-ka spirit.
GKI Summer Gasshuku
Senseis’ Andre and Daphne will be training at the annual Gasshuku in Sweden 2nd to 5th August. Dojo closure dates to follow.
